Their wines sold as Cotes du Rhone could technically be Cairanne but as normally younger vines etc, they choose to sell them as Cotes du Rhone. \u003cbr\u003eAbout 7% (depending on the vintage) of all Southern Rhone wines are White, but white wines account for over 30% of Domaine Alary production. Jean Etienne, having taken over from his father Denis, believes this will increase even more - but the stars are still the big reds! \u003cbr\u003eJean Etienne believes mostly in balance - there is no sense having rich full flavours if the tannins and acidity are out of sync.
