Why Rosé wines for Valentines?

St Valentine's Day is creeping up and the media are recommending wines, including lots of Rosé wines, but why? It's February in Ireland and that means it's odds on to be cold and wet - not Rosé wine weather.

Well, it could be that Red is the colour of love, or it could be that Rosé wines don't need much aging and should be drunk young so last year's vintage is ready to generate some income for the producer. Or it could be something else!

Either way, when we had the Wine Shops 90% of Rosé was sold in the Summer AND when the weather was warm!
So, Rosé may be your thing in February but it's not most people's thing!
Our Valentine Selection has 2 Cava, 2 Red & 2 white wines - and NO Rosé!
