Carmignano Riserva 2020 Le Farnete is a blend of 80% Sangiovese and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon with 3 years aging to attain the Riserva status. 

It opens with a sumptuous, aromatic nose of blackberry, cherry, nutmeg and cinnamon spices, with tea leaf and dried herb notes. It is beautifully rich on the palate with perfect acidity to balance the full and generous body. The aging has softened it (as has the Cabernet) so it is beautifully rounded, smooth and long. 
The difference between this lovely Tuscan red and top end Chiantis, is the smooth soft finish. Chianti has that beautiful dry edge on the finish bur Carmignano just glides on down.

And your vineyards have to be under 400m altitude!

Carmignano DOCG appellation has for many years used Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend (with Sangiovese obviously), long before the 'Super Tuscan's' arrived on the scene -the Cabernet cuttings originally came from Lafite Rothschild seemingly.  
There is no definitive proof of why they started adding Cabernet Sauvignon to the Sangiovese before anyone else (officially approved in 1975 with awarding of DOC status, now upgraded to DOCG) but the version that makes sense to us is the view that the low altitude of the vineyards leads to lower acidity and more pronounced tannins than other Tuscans (Chianti etc). The addition of Cabernet Sauvignon balanced out the wines perfectly. 

You are allowed up to 20% Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend - the rest can be an assortment of other indigenous varieties (Canaiolo Nero and other red varietals, and even white varietals Trebbiano & Malvasia)  but in practice it's usually 80 % Sangiovese.
