Pinot Bianco - something different!

Pinot Bianco - something different!

When our Solo Roberto Pinot Bianco arrived back in stock, someone asked 'what's the difference?'   I assume they meant in comparison with Pinot Grigio!

Both Pinot Bianco/Blanc and Pinot Grigio are 'mutations' of Pinot Noir and both are are found in similar growing areas, particularly Alsace (France) Aldo Adige & Friuli (Italy), Slovenia and Germany & Austria (called Weissburgunder there). It is also a permitted varietal in Champagne
There isn't a lot of Pinot Bianco/Blanc being produced but it is quite popular in Northern Italy - Aldo Adige, Friuli Grave - and (just over the hills from each other) Slovenia. The approach here to this varietal avoids oak and accentuates the fresh, fruity flavours, while remaining dry!

Our Solo Roberto Pinot Bianco shows a lovely light straw yellow colour and there are dominant notes of green apples and peaches on the nose. In the mouth it is a fresh, fruity, elegant and nicely balanced wine, with those apple and peaches lingering on. And only 12.5% Alc. Vol.!

Even better, you can save 15% in October by using the discount code SoloBianco15
