While White wine production in the whole of the Southern Rhone is approx 7% , Alary's white wines account for 30% of their production, and for a very good reason - they are really good!!

This is their (Denis and son Jean Etienne, who is now in charge) Cotes du Rhone white , made from the younger vines in their Cairanne vineyards - they could sell as Cairanne but choose not to.  

It's a typical white Rhone blend of Clairette, Rousanne, Viognier and Grenache Blanc. They are all fermented separately and then blended.  Their aim is to showcase the natural varietal character, texture and varietal expression, and it sure does that.

A lovely fragrant nose with floral (acacia, white blossoms) and spicy aromas (a touch of anise) with white fruits - white peaches and pears.  On the palate it is soft with a silky texture, but with the crisp acidity reaching a lovely balance - balance is their thing! 
The finish shows with minerality and a long fresh finish.  

Try it with Risotto, grilled seafood and prawns, or white meats, you won't regret it!
