Bourgogne (Blanc) Cote D'Or 2022 Domaine Boyer Martenot, Burgundy, France
Minimum order: 6 bottles. We sell in cases of 6 or 12 to ensure you get the best deal, best price and best service.
This Bourgogne Blanc from Boyer Martenot uses Meursault vines over just over 50% of the grapes, so offers a little bit - a big bit actually- more!
From the fresh peach and pear aromas, through the soft fruit flavours with a delicate minerality throughout, and a fresh finish that is quite long.
While aged in oak like all good Burgundies, no new oak is generally used for this wine so while it helps the wine shine through, you don't notice the oak itself here.
As good, if not better, than any of the simple/basic Meursault on the market.
A real treat!
Now (since 2002) in the hands of Vincent Boyer and more recently joined by his sister, the wines keep getting better and better.
The Wine Advocate says 'Boyer has produced wines of notable interest and is impressive, and it bodes well for the future of this Domaine that's quietly on the rise. This is a name, in other words, to watch'
Vincent Boyer is a quiet man when you first meet - he lets his wine do the talking. He is however convinced of the quality of his wine and has been known (I can vouch for this) to bring guests to the Vineyard late at night to prove his point.
Like this wine? You should definitely try his Meursault en l'Ormeau which is always our best selling white Burgundy!
Organically certified since 2021 - but like nearly all the better producers, they had always practiced organic and sustainable methods.
