Produced from 30 year old vines in the heart of Chablis Premier Cru country, Montmains is just South East of the town of Chablis, on the road to Préhy - and remains our favourite Premier Cru appellation in Chablis. 

Pale yellow in colour but crystal clear, Chablis Montmains opens with notes of acacia blossom, spicy notes and citrus aromas. In the mouth it offers tangy candy, lemony freshness all leading to a thirst quenching citrusy finish. It has an elegant, gorgeous minerality throughout. 
Fermented with indigenous yeasts, this wine is aged for 14 months, 70% in wooden foudres and 30% in stainless steel. Foudres are typically 2000 litres capacity upwards so wood contact is minimal - if you want dominant oak flavours, you'll have to look elsewhere. 

There is a world full of Chablis out there but this is one of the better ones. The problem with Chablis for some people is knowing the different premier cru vineyards etc- but that just requires a visit (and a tasting, preferably). 

Jean Marc Brocard has nearly 150 hectares of vines in Prehy, near Chablis and is slowly converting it all to Organic/Bio-dynamic with 60 hectares now Organic & 40 hectares Bio-dynamic. This wine is certified fully Organic!
