Champagne Philipponat Royale Réserve ROSÉ

Philipponat are one of the oldest houses in Champagne (since 1522) and their Raison d'etre is 'wine not bubbles'. Their wines are found in most of the top restaurants worldwide and with specialist retailers - and definitely not Supermarkets!

Their ROYALE RÉSERVE ROSÉ (75% Pinot Noir, 20% Chardonnay, 5% Petit Meunier)
has approx. 8% of a still red (Pinot Noir) wine from the fabled Clos de Goisses vineyard giving a delicately coloured salmon-pink rosé with a very definite fruity taste. It is full and ample on the palate with good acidity and a light astringency that brings out the fruitiness.

Bursting with aromas of red apple, freshly baked bread, mint and petals, it's medium to full-bodied, fleshy and gourmand, with a generous core of fruit, a pillowy mousse and a chalky finish. Philipponat opted to use less red still wine than usual in the blend, given the power and intensity of color evident in 2018 (the core vintage used).

We know from decades in Retail that most Champagne is bought as gifts to mark a Birthday or Special Occasion etc. That is why, understandably, most people fall back on the big Brands like Moet & Chandon etc but these are not the best available.   Most Champagne lovers have moved towards grower champagne (basically unknown producers making great champagne, with no international marketing budget) or the top producers (in quality, not volume) 
I read on one site that 'Moet is definitely the best Brand in the world' (my emphasis!) but what does that mean?
A quick search on line shows Moet selling today at €57.00 -€65.00, but our preferred Philipponat is €67.00 and streets ahead in quality! Likewise this Rosé!  Don't say your weren't told!
