Chianti Classico Castello di Querceto* opens with complex aromas of blackberries, cherries and bramble (sweet dark fruits with a floral undertone) . It is dry and balanced on the palate with a soft balanced body. It finishes with more dark fruit, earthy notes and traces of nutty oak (very fitting - see below).  The sweet tannins linger afterwards. 
It has that dry mid-palate that was always the benchmark of quality Chianti.  This vintage has 92% Sangiovese and 8% others (Canaiolo Nero etc)

Castello di Querceto sits on a hilltop in Greve - the heart of Chianti country - in an oak forest about 20km south of Florence. Makes perfect sense as Querceto means 'Oak Forest'

*Castello di Querceto Chianti Classico - not to be confused with another Chianti Classico they make simply called  they make called simply Querceto (omitting the Castello) from younger vines and other vineyard sites. Quite good actually but this is worth the extra couple of Euro. 
The easy way to spot the difference is that the wines from Castello di Querceto have WHITE labels and the 'Querceto' wines vary  from dark blue, via buff coloured etc
