Made from 92% Sangiovese and 8 % 'indigenous' grapes (which we believe is Canaiolo!) it's aged for 12 months in (mostly old) oak. 

It shows with a rich, complex nose of cherries (always Cherries in Chianti!), violets and even prunes.
On the palate, the cherries and plum are there again, hints of black tea and traces of vanilla from the wood.  It is full bodied, rich and contains all those wonderful characteristics of Chianti - cherries, plums, touches of oak with a beautiful dry finish, perfect with food.

90 Points: mid-weight texture that definitely does reveal extra volume and softness in this hot vintage.
