From the Northern end of the Margaux Appellation - as you head for Saint Julien - this Margaux, from the truly excellent 2019 vintage, is a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon , 43% Merlot and 7% Petit Verdot.

Starting with aromas of red and black fruits, it is supple and perfumed throughout. Full-bodied flavour and rich fruity aromas show well on the palate, with floral and spicy scents, particularly violets and lilacs. Despite the hot summer, Closerie 2019 is soft and approachable and comes in at only 13.50% Alc Vol.

The 2019 Vintage is a cracker! Robert Parker scores the vintage in Margaux as '96 points, Extraordinary!'
The hot summer leads to rich ripe tannins which make the wine very approachable now but enable you to keep for up to 10 years if required.
