This 100% Tempranillo wine, from a single vineyard plot at about 500 metres altitude and with 70 year old vines, is a real treat. The people in charge at Proelio reckon that it is one of the finest vineyards in La Rioja.  

Ruby red colour, an abundance of wild black fruits on the nose, with balsamic, liquorice and gunpowder notes. It is round and powerful, with a creamy character  and black fruits, balsamic notes and abundant sweet spices throughout.
It is fresh, structured and complex and finishes with a silky texture and mineral notes.
